Sometimes starting a job search can feel overwhelming, especially if you are juggling school work with other commitments. At the Career Services Center, we understand this and have compiled a variety of resources to support you every step of the way. What’s more, every resource we offer can be easily accessed online and coaching can be done by phone or video conference.

  • Career Roadmap
The first step of any successful job search is to map out where you’re headed. Our Career Roadmap includes all the important milestones to help prepare you to meet your career goals.
  • Personal Career Coaching
Our team of professional career advisors offer both on-campus as well as phone and video career coaching.
  • Resume Development
An effective resume is still one of the most essential tools to securing a job offer. Our resume development can help you highlight skills, summarize experiences, and make a great first impression.
  • Mock Interview Preparation
Interviews are a key way for a future employer to determine if you are a good match both in experience and work style. We can work with you to ensure you feel confident and prepared for any interview experience.
  • Career Development Workshops
Workshops can help you develop expertise in a key area of interest, such as how to make an effective LinkedIn profile. Please check our website regularly for new opportunities.
  • Job Search/Grad School Strategy
Whether you are seeking a new job or continuing your academic career in graduate school, our advisors can help build out strategies to put your goal within reach.
  • Networking Opportunities
The Career Services Center offers year-round networking events including career fairs and alumni events to connect students to jobs. We also support job searches through our online job database, SpartanCareers.

For several of the services above, we also utilize resume dropbox, a remote version of a 1:1 coaching appointment which initiates a digital relationship allowing the student to communicate back-and-forth with a coach by email until resume or other job search goals are achieved. Resume dropbox is prioritized for students who cannot come to campus during 8am - 5pm office hours.
